2012 – The Beginning of Change

Unlike many blockbuster films that portray 2012 in a negative light, the documentary film 2012: Time for Change, directed by João Amorim, puts a positive spin on 2012 by viewing it as a catalyst for change. The filmmakers and luminaries of this documentary explore issues related to human consciousness, sustainability, and our ability to transform our society as a whole–for a world that works for all. Since the release of the film, the filmmakers and luminaries have continued their journeys, engaging and creating awareness of our world. Here?s a small list of what some of them are up to:

The Emmy-nominated director of 2012: Time for Change, João Amorim, often combines animation and documentary genres, and is currently working on the animated documentary film, ?Zero Point.? He also runs the non-profit Ciclo Brasil, which implements ecological solutions in his native Brazil.

Journalist and bestselling author Daniel Pinchbeck will host a Reality Sandwich retreat ?Message from the Heart of the Earth? from March 26 to April 2nd at a private eco-reserve in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Santa Marta, Colombia. The Permaculture Institute currently offers several classes in Permaculture Design at locations in Costa Rica, Colorado and New Mexico. In addition to the Permaculture Design courses, a Land and Watershed Restoration in Native Country (Navajo/Dine) is also being offered. Paul Stamets most recently spoke at the 21st North American Mushroom Conference and was interviewed on WORT 89.9 Madison, WI. Stamets will be a keynote speaker at the 2011 International Herb Symposium IS THERE A LINK FOR THIS?. He will present at the RC Forum at the Evergreen SC Longhouse Cultural Center in Olympia, Washington and will also be speaking at the Soils and Urban Trees Conference in Toronto, Canada on April 26th-27th. Barbara Marx Hubbard recently celebrated her 81st birthday with a recorded conversation with Neale Donald Walsch on his new biographical book on Hubbard titled ?The Mother of Invention.? In addition to the release of the book, Hubbard also created a virtual teaching course called ?Evolution Metamorphosis: An Alchemical Activation of Your Next State of Evolution,? and starred in two documentaries called Visions of a Universal Humanity, and The Truth: The Journey Within. Her next engagement is at the 2013: Day 1 Prophets Conference in Palm Springs, California and after that, she will head to San Luis Obispo, CA for a Women Rising in Consciousness: A Symposium for Women. Dean Radin recently spent a month in India lecturing as the National Visiting Professor of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, a program in the Indian government?s Ministry of Human Resource Development. He also starred in the documentary, Something Unknown… Is Doing We Don’t Know What.
